This is one of those local spots that I love telling people about because it isn’t just another place to grab a burger. Lachele’s has built a reputation around seriously good smash burgers, creative sandwiches, and daily specials that give you a reason to keep coming back.

The Smash Burgers Are the Star

There are a lot of burger places around Des Moines, but Lachele’s does something really well: the smash burger.

If you’ve never had a good smash burger, the basic idea is simple. The beef is pressed thin on the griddle, creating those crispy, caramelized edges while keeping the middle flavorful and juicy.

It’s simple food—but when it’s done right, it’s hard to beat.

And Lachele’s does it right.

But Don’t Stop at the Burgers

One of the things I like about Lachele’s is that the menu doesn’t feel like an afterthought built around one signature item.

They also serve creative sandwiches and, perhaps most importantly, daily specials.
