Real Estate Is Better When It’s Personal

Real estate is better when it’s personal.

That’s something I’ve come to believe more and more throughout my career.

When I work with someone, I’m not just thinking about how to get a transaction closed.

I’m thinking about:

How do I help this person win?

That shift in mindset changes everything.

It’s More Than Closing a Deal

Of course, the goal is to successfully buy or sell a home.

But there’s a lot more that goes into getting there.

It’s listening to what someone actually wants.

It’s understanding what’s important to their family.

It’s being honest when something doesn’t make sense.

It’s answering the phone when they have a question.

It’s communicating throughout the process.

It’s negotiating when it matters.

And sometimes it’s simply being there when the process gets stressful.

When I put myself in my client’s shoes, the decisions become much easier.

What would I want my Realtor to do if I were in their position?

That’s the question I try to ask myself.

The Best Part Happens After Closing

One of the coolest things about being a Realtor is that relationships don’t necessarily end when the transaction does.

I’ve had clients become friends.

I’ve caught up with people at community events.

I’ve coached some of their kids in flag football.

I’ve stayed connected with families long after they’ve moved into their homes.

Those relationships are one of my favorite parts of the job.

Because at some point, the house becomes less important than the people who live in it.

I’m In It for the Long Haul

I don’t want to be the Realtor you call once every ten years when you need to buy or sell a house.

I want to be the person you call when you have a real estate question.

“Should we move?”

“What do you think our house is worth?”

“Is this a good investment?”

“Do you know someone who can fix this?”

“What would you do if you were me?”

Those are the conversations I enjoy.

Because being a Realtor isn’t just about knowing houses.

It’s about knowing people.

It’s about earning trust.

And it’s about being someone your clients know they can count on.

That’s the kind of business I want to build.

Not just transactions. Relationships.

And not just for the closing.

For the long haul.
